Perfuse vs. Profuse

by Carin on November 28, 2010

What is the difference between perfuse and profuse?

Perfuse means to force fluid through (could be through tissue or organ) by way of blood vessels.

Profuse means plentiful or abundant.

Examples:

The patient’s arm had profuse bleeding.

The patient’s fingers are well perfused.

Any other examples from anyone?
